CONTEE no FME 2009
A VI edição do Fórum Mundial de Educação aconteceu entre os dias 26 e 27 de janeiro, em Belém (PA) e, como não poderia deixar de ser, representantes da direção da CONTEE acompanharam as atividades e participaram das mesas de debate do encontro. No total, mais de 6 mil pessoas prestigiaram o FME 2009, que discutiu temas de grande relevância para a educação, especialmente no que tange o seu papel como fator estratégico para o desenvolvimento do País.
Entre os eixos temáticos: Educação, Desenvolvimento, Economia Solidária e Ética Planetária; Educação Cidadã: Inclusão e Diversidade; Educação, Direitos Humanos, Cooperação e Cultura de Paz; Educação, Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade; Educação de Jovens e Adultos na Perspectiva da Educação Popular; e Educação Emancipatória no contexto da comunicação e das tecnologias.
A abertura da atividade contou com uma apresentação cultural com expressões regionais e no mesmo dia (26/01) o tema do debate principal foi “Educação, Transgressão e construção da cidadania planetária”. Entre os debatedores: o Teólogo Leonardo Boff e a Senadora Marina Silva. O coordenador dessa mesa foi o professor Moacir Gadotti. Na parte da tarde aconteceram as plenárias, divididas em 6 temas diferentes.
Já no dia 27/01, a mesa principal tratou do tema: “Educação, Diálogo e Utopia: Identidades e culturalidades”. Deste debate participaram o professor Carlos Rodrigues Brandão (Unicamp); Cristina Vargas (MST) e Rosane Fernandes (representante dos povos indígenas). A professora Celina Arêas, diretora da CONTEE, foi a coordenadora da mesa, na qual todos os debatedores destacaram a importância da educação.
Para Cristina Barra, representante do MST, o direito à educação deve ser uma luta de todos, como também a luta pela terra, por saúde e infra-estrutura. “Esses direitos básicos da população devem ser garantidos pelo Estado, não devem ser tratados como mercadoria”, disse Cristina.
A professora Celina apresentou a Campanha da CONTEE “Educação não é mercadoria” e exibiu aos presentes o vídeo institucional criado pela entidade, que repudia o processo de mercantilização e desnacionalização da educação brasileira. “Devemos nos unir e lutar para que a Organização Mundial do Comércio (OMC) não defina a educação como serviço a ser comercializado”, afirmou Celina.
Entre os diretores da CONTEE presentes no FME: Wilson Melo Sodré – que atuou na comissão de organização local; Reginaldo Alberto Meloni; Francisco Perez Levy; Celina Alves Arêas e Paulo Roberto Yamaçake.
