A fim de destacar a importância da participação das sindicalistas na luta política eleitoral em curso, as centrais sindicais brasileiras (CTB, CGTB, CUT, Força Sindical, NCST e UGT) realizarão, no próximo dia 17/08, terça-feira, a partir das 11h, um encontro das mulheres trabalhadoras com a candidata à Presidência da República Dilma Rousseff. De acordo com a Secretaria de Mulheres da CTB, “defender a continuidade do projeto em curso é um imenso desafio e eleger DILMA será uma vitória”.

O encontro acontecerá no clube Transmontano, em São Paulo/SP, e deverá receber trabalhadoras de todo o Brasil. A CONTEE enviará suas representantes e estará engajada nesta iniciativa.

As mulheres vêm a cada vez mais ocupando seu espaço através de seu protagonismo. Conquistas importantes foram sendo viabilizadas como: ampliação da licença maternidade, proibição a discriminação sexual no trabalho, a lei Maria da Penha contra a violência domestica, a reforma do código civil e o direito da mulher à posse da terra, dentre outras, mas ainda há muito pelo que lutar.

Segundo nota divulgada pela Secretaria de Mulheres da CTB, a central “tem a convicção de que a emancipação feminina só poderá acontecer quando também a classe trabalhadora se libertar do capitalismo, que mudanças profundas só serão efetivas em outro tipo de sociedade: justa e igualitária – socialista”.
