Comissão do Senado aprova cotas em creches e pré-escola para deficientes
A Comissão de Educação do Senado aprovou nesta terça (5/05) projeto de lei que reserva 10% das vagas de creches e pré-escolas públicas para crianças portadoras de necessidades especiais. No caso das instituições privadas, o projeto reserva uma cota de 5% das vagas para estabelecimentos com mais de 200 alunos. A matéria será apreciada agora pelo plenário do Senado.
O projeto é de autoria da senadora Maria do Carmo Alves (DEM-SE) e foi relatado por Flávio Arns (PT-PR). No parecer, o relator ressaltou que cabe ao Estado garantir a educação infantil, em creche e pré-escola, às crianças até 5 anos de idade. O parlamentar disse ainda que esse atendimento deve ser feito preferencialmente pela rede pública de ensino.
Arns acrescentou que o atendimento educacional especializado aos portadores de deficiência, “de preferência na rede regular de ensino”, e a execução de programas de prevenção e atendimento especializado aos portadores de deficiência física, sensorial ou mental, com o objetivo de promover a assistência integral dessas crianças, também são deveres do Estado
