UNE Lança Campanha Nacional pelas Cotas
A campanha foi lançada na abertura do II Encontro Nacional de Negras, Negros e Cotistas da UNE
A UNE lançou nesta sexta, 5 de junho, a campanha nacional "Por uma educação sem racismo e Pela aprovação da PLC 180/08 em defesa das cotas". A campanha foi lançada na abertura do II Encontro Nacional de Negras, Negros e Cotistas da UNE, realizado em Salvador, na Universidade Federal da Bahia. A entidade se coloca, mais uma vez, como uma das protagonistas na defesa da educação pública, gratuita e de qualidade, e isto perpassa pela luta contra o racismo e por uma educação socialmente referenciada. Defender uma educação sem racismo significa lutar pela garantia de direitos aos setores historicamente excluídos socialmente.
A Diretoria de Combate ao Racismo da UNE lança a campanha em meio a um turbilhão de mudanças estruturantes na educação brasileira, seja ela superior ou secundarista. As tarefas postas para a entidade coloca a posição dos estudantes brasileiros acerca dessas transformações. A campanha está estruturada na realização de debates entre núcleos de estudantes negras e negros espalhados pelo país e a diretoria, na mobilização nacional em defesa das cotas e contrária aos ataques que as políticas de ação afirmativa são acometidas (exemplo o estado do Rio de Janeiro), e culminará com grandes debates e mobilização em uma grande Marcha Negra em favor das políticas afirmativas para a construção de um novo Brasil no 51º CONUNE.
O racismo é uma das nuances mais perversas da questão social e está atrelado às demais formas de segregação, exemplo disso é a questão da mulher negra que se situa entre a população em maior vulnerabilidade social. A educação deve ser referenciada nas matrizes de nossa formação cultural e visando a superação das desigualdades sociais. Reparar o erro histórico de uma sociedade que matou, negou e escravizou milhares de homens e mulheres negras, e que conseguiu transmitir a seus descendentes a forma das mais violentas às mais sutis de todas as opressões; é tarefa crucial para a transformação da sociedade a mudança de eixos da educação.
