Universidades e institutos federais vão investir em projetos de extensão
Universidades públicas e institutos federais de educação, ciência e tecnologia podem receber R$ 19,2 milhões do governo federal, neste segundo semestre, para investir em extensão universitária. O Programa de Extensão Universitária (Proext) recebeu, este ano, 996 propostas de projetos — o triplo do ano passado.
O prazo para envio de propostas terminou na segunda-feira, 13. Agora, os projetos serão analisados. A relação das instituições selecionadas para receber os recursos será divulgada em 13 de agosto. Estão envolvidos na ação os ministérios da Educação, do Trabalho e Emprego, da Cultura e o Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan).
Cada um dos órgãos é responsável por uma linha temática. Na área da educação, foram recebidos 617 projetos; na da cultura, 186. Para a linha do patrimônio histórico e artístico, 99 projetos foram inscritos; do trabalho e emprego, 89. A maioria dos projetos provém de universidades federais. Para essas, boa parte dos recursos será repassada por meio do Programa de Apoio a Planos de Reestruturação e Expansão das Universidades Federais (Reuni).
“Quando as ações sociais começam na universidade, o cenário da comunidade local se modifica. Além disso, o profissional formado, que trabalha com extensão, adquire mais consciência crítica e social”, destaca Lucas Ramalho, especialista em políticas públicas e gestão governamental da Secretaria de Educação Superior (Sesu).
Criado em 2003, o Proext abrange a extensão universitária com ênfase na inclusão social. O objetivo do programa é apoiar instituições públicas de educação superior no desenvolvimento de programas ou projetos de extensão que contribuam para a implementação de políticas públicas. Em 2010, segundo Ramalho, a intenção é lançar um edital com dez ministérios envolvidos.
