Educação a distância é tema de abertura da 61ª reunião anual
O presidente da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), Jorge Guimarães, destacou, durante a abertura da 61ª Reunião Anual da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC), no domingo, 12, em Manaus (AM), a educação a distância como essencial ao desenvolvimento das unidades da Federação. Guimarães ressaltou ainda a importância da parceria do Ministério da Educação com estados como o Amazonas para a oferta de cursos a distância.
Já o presidente da SBPC, Marco Antonio Raupp, falou sobre a realização do evento no estado. “A SBPC está aqui para se somar aos esforços de termos uma Amazônia desenvolvida, mas também conservada.” Ele disse que o papel da ciência na região é o de estabelecer um modelo de desenvolvimento que minimize conflitos entre o ‘ambientalismo’ e o ‘desenvolvimentismo’. Para Raupp, não há alternativas para alcançar esse objetivo que não seja a ciência. “O Brasil poderá constituir-se na primeira potência ambiental do planeta, talvez única. Este é o desafio.”
Um dos exemplos das ações do governo federal que beneficiam as regiões historicamente menos desenvolvidas em ciência e tecnologia é o Programa Institutos Nacionais de Ciência e Tecnologia (INCTs).
Segundo o ministro da Ciência e Tecnologia, Sergio Rezende, o programa, que possui R$ 600 milhões para investimento em três anos, tem em fase de implantação dez institutos no Amazonas, de um total de 123 novos institutos em todo o país. “Antes, na época dos institutos do milênio, o estado só possuía um”, disse.
Estiveram presentes na cerimônia de abertura da 61ª Reunião da SBPC, o governador do estado, Eduardo Braga; a reitora da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Ufam), Márcia Perales; o presidente da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas (Fapeam), Odenildo Sena; o secretário de C&T do estado, José Aldemir de Oliveira; entre outras autoridades. O evento em Manaus segue até o dia 17. A Capes participa das conferências e mesas-redondas e está com estande na ExpoT&C.
