Um grupo de 55 instituições de ensino superior poderá ter cursos cortados do ProUni (Programa Universidade para Todos), que dá incentivos fiscais em troca de bolsas de estudo, por conta da má qualidade da educação que oferecem, segundo reportagem de Marta Solomon e Larissa Guimarães publicada neste sábado na Folha (íntegra disponível para assinantes do UOL e do jornal).

De acordo com o texto, a lista, obtida pela Folha, é o resultado do primeiro dos dois ciclos de avaliação a que as instituições são submetidas antes do fechamento de cursos, que ocorre caso tenham desempenho ruim em ambos.

A Folha também cruzou as notas obtidas neste mês na primeira etapa do segundo ciclo de avaliação e identificou 23 instituições com cursos já reprovados na primeira etapa e que mantêm o desempenho insuficiente --cinco delas estão baseadas no Estado de São Paulo. São candidatas a terem cursos excluídos do ProUni caso não melhorem a qualidade do ensino até o ano que vem.

Desde a sua criação, em 2005, o ProUni custou, em impostos que deixaram de ser cobrados pela União, cerca de R$ 1 bilhão. Mas só a partir de 2011 o Ministério da Educação poderá cortar cursos que tiverem sido reprovados em dois ciclos completos de avaliação, informou o ministro Fernando Haddad.
