Mais da metade (60,9%) dos participantes do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Enem) de 2009 já concluíram a etapa em anos anteriores. Os que estão se formando neste ano representam 32% dos candidatos. Balanço oficial divulgado hoje (30) pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais (Inep) aponta que exatas 4.147.527 pessoas são esperadas para realizar a prova no fim de semana (3 e 4 de outubro).

De acordo com o Inep, 80% dos estudantes brasileiros que estão concluindo o ensino médio em 2009 se inscreveram no Enem. Nesse universo, 1.079.074 são de escolas públicas e 260.130 da rede privada.

O exame será realizado em 1.829 municípios em mais de 10 mil locais de prova diferentes. Também está prevista a aplicação em 339 unidades prisionais. Em 2009 o Enem teve número recorde de inscrições. A partir desta edição ele é requisito para a entrada em pelo menos 40 universidades federais, além de ser necessário para quem disputa uma bolsa do Programa Universidade para Todos (ProUni).
