O presidente do Banco Central (BC), Henrique Meirelles, afirmou hoje (25), durante encontro com executivos da área de finanças que o Brasil vai ter um excelente Natal e que são muito boas as perspectivas para o ano que vem. Ele ressaltou, no entanto, que o momento é de administrar o sucesso, não só no crédito, mas também em outras áreas, de maneira que o país possa continuar crescendo de forma sustentada.

Na palestra, Meirelles apontou os desafios que o Brasil enfrenta após a crise, sobretudo nos setores de educação e infraestrutura. Ele reagiu com bom humor a uma queda de energia de cerca de 20 minutos ocorrida durante seu discurso, feito num espaço de eventos no Lago Sul, bairro nobre de Brasília.

Perguntado se tinha sido vítima de um apagão, Meirelles respondeu afirmando que não há dúvida de que um dos grandes desafios no Brasil pós-crise é continuar a investir em infraestrutura, principalmente nas áreas de energia e transporte. Segundo ele, é precisotambém investir em capital humano.
