O Conselho Nacional de Educação (CNE) publicou no Diário Oficial da União de sexta-feira (15) a resolução que complementa as normas referentes à idade para a implantação do ensino fundamental de nove anos na educação básica. O prazo de transição de três anos para que as redes de ensino implementem os nove anos termina em 2010.

Somente deverão ser matriculadas no primeiro ano as crianças com seis anos completos até o dia 31 de março. Aquelas que fizerem seis anos após essa data deverão ir para a pré-escola.

Para as crianças que já estão na escola, haverá um período de transição em 2010. Os estudantes que completarem seis anos depois de 31 de março poderão continuar o curso, mas a instituição deverá acompanhar de perto e avaliar o seu desempenho.

Aquelas com cinco anos de idade que estiveram matriculadas e frequentaram por mais de dois anos a pré-escola poderão, em 2010, prosseguir no ensino fundamental.

A resolução foi homologada pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC), que pretende aprovar um projeto de lei no Congresso com o objetivo de padronizar as faixas etárias de ingresso no ensino fundamental em todo o país.
