O Ministério da Educação investiu, por meio do programa Brasil Profissionalizado, R$ 1,2 bilhão nas redes estaduais de educação profissional. São R$ 550 milhões para a reforma, ampliação e demais benfeitorias de 550 escolas técnicas em 23 estados. Até o fim de 2010, serão entregues, ainda, 650 laboratórios em cinco estados: Acre, Amapá, Mato Grosso, Paraná e Santa Catarina.

Outros R$ 652 milhões foram aplicados para a construção de 129 novas escolas, das quais 106 seguem o modelo padrão (maquete ao lado) fornecido pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC), que custa em torno de R$ 6 milhões e que conta com 12 salas de aula, seis laboratórios, biblioteca e capacidade para atender a 1,2 mil estudantes. As demais unidades têm projetos próprios e valores diferenciados em cada estado.

“O Brasil Profissionalizado permite que os estados atuem em áreas onde a demanda não é totalmente atendida pela rede federal”, ressalta Marcelo Camilo Pedra, coordenador geral de projetos especiais da Secretaria de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica.

Estados - O Ceará é o estado com o maior número de novas unidades, totalizando 20. Estas escolas estão localizadas nos municípios de Acaraú, Aurora, Beberibe, Guaraciaba do Norte, Hidrolândia, Iço, Ipu, Itaitinga, Juazeiro do Norte, Maracanaú, Massapé, Mauriti, Pedra Branca, Quixeramobim, Sobral, Tamboril, Tauá, Trairi, Tianguá e Várzea Alegre.
