As instituições federais de educação profissional são as responsáveis, em sete estados, pela oferta de vagas do Sistema de Seleção Unificada (Sisu) para o segundo semestre de 2010. O sistema foi aberto nesta esta quinta-feira, 10. Os institutos federais do Ceará, Distrito Federal, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Paraíba, Sergipe e São Paulo garantem a oferta de vagas do Sisu nas respectivas unidades federativas. O período de inscrições se estende até o dia 14.

Os institutos federais de educação, ciência e tecnologia são 18 das 35 instituições que participam dessa rodada do Sisu. Eles respondem por 2,8 mil vagas e 181 dos 600 cursos oferecidos pelo sistema. O destaque, além da oferta de cursos superiores de tecnologia, vai para o oferecimento de licenciaturas também no período noturno.

“Atuamos em várias frentes para garantir o acesso de jovens e adultos com perfis diferenciados. Há vagas em vários cursos, desde rede de computadores, área em alta no momento, até formação de professores em matemática, física e química, uma carência no país”, destacou Eliezer Pacheco, secretário de educação profissional e tecnológica do Ministério da Educação.
