Quase metade dos universitários do país já usou drogas ilícitas, mostra pesquisa
Quase a metade dos universitários brasileiros (49%) já experimentou drogas ilícitas. É o que revela o 1º Levantamento Nacional sobre Uso de Álcool, Tabaco e Outras Drogas entre Universitários, divulgado nesta quarta (23) pela Secretaria Nacional de Políticas sobre Drogas (Senad).
O estudo indica que 22% dos universitários estão sob o risco de desenvolver dependência de álcool. No caso da maconha, esse percentual é de 8%.
O levantamento ouviu cerca de 18 mil jovens matriculados em instituições públicas e privadas de ensino superior das 27 capitais brasileiras. Entre os entrevistados, 40% usaram duas ou mais drogas nos últimos 12 meses e 43% disseram “já ter feito uso múltiplo e simultâneo” dessas substâncias.
Segundo a pesquisa, o uso de substâncias ilícitas é maior entre os universitários das regiões Sul e Sudeste, de mais de 35 anos, que estudam em instituições privadas e estão matriculados em cursos da área de humanas no período noturno. Não foi observada a interferência do gênero nesse consumo.
O fumo é um hábito de 22% dos jovens do ensino superior. Em relação à bebida alcoólica, 86% dos universitários disseram já ter consumido álcool. O índice é de 80% entre os menores de 18 anos. O estudo aponta ainda que 18% dos jovens já dirigiram sob o efeito de bebida e 27% pegaram carona com um motorista embriagado.
O estudo ressalta que a prevalência do uso de álcool, tabaco e drogas entre os universitários brasileiros é semelhante à verificada entre os jovens dos Estados Unidos. Mas há algumas peculiaridades: entre os estudantes norte-americanos é maior o uso da maconha e, no Brasil, o percentual de universitários que declararam usar inalantes é superior ao daquele país.
