Ideb sobe para 4,6 e aponta melhoria na educação pública
O Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (Ideb) subiu de 4,2 pontos em 2007 para 4,6 em 2009, segundo divulgou na quinta (1°) o Ministério da Educação (MEC). O resultado supera em 0,4 ponto a meta prevista para o ano passado (4,2).
O indicador foi criado em 2005 e funciona como um termômetro da qualidade do ensino público. O Ideb varia de zero a dez e a meta é que o país atinga a nota 6 até 2022.
O índice é aferido a cada dois anos e há metas estabelecidas para cada período. Ele é calculado com base na nota obtida pelos alunos na Prova Brasil e dos índices de reprovação. A meta prevista para as séries iniciais do ensino fundamental em 2009 era 4,2, resultado que já foi atingido em 2007. A nota 4,6 era a meta prevista para 2011.
O Ideb atribui uma nota para cada escola, assim como para as redes municipais e estaduais, que precisam cumprir metas bienais para melhorar a qualidade do ensino. É a partir dessas avaliações que é calculada a média nacional.
O ministério também atribui um Ideb para os anos finais do ensino fundamental e para o ensino médio. Nas séries finais do ensino fundamental, o indicador subiu de 3,8 em 2007 para 4,0 em 2009. A meta para o ano passado era 3,7.
Já no ensino médio, o crescimento foi menor. O Ideb passou de 3,5 em 2007 para 3,6 em 2009. Mas atingiu a meta prevista para o período, que era de 3,5 pontos. Na próxima semana o MEC vai divulgar o Ideb dos estados, municípios e escolas.
