Cursos começam em agosto para 1.970 professores do ensino básico público
Universidades federais de oito estados das regiões Norte, Nordeste e Centro-Oeste concluem este mês o processo de seleção de 1.970 professores do ensino básico público para o curso de especialização em educação infantil. Nas oito instituições, o início das aulas está programado para agosto.
Os professores, que já trabalham com educação infantil e pertencem aos quadros das redes municipais, farão a especialização em 36 polos das universidades federais do Amazonas, Roraima, Rondônia, Ceará, Bahia, Piauí, Sergipe e Mato Grosso. Presencial e gratuito, o curso de pós-graduação tem 360 horas e duração de 18 meses.
O objetivo da iniciativa do Ministério da Educação, em parceria com instituições federais de educação superior e prefeituras, é qualificar quadros das redes públicas da educação básica e, a partir daí, criar uma rede nacional de formação nos municípios.
As pré-inscrições do curso foram abertas em 2009, na Plataforma Freire, para professores de 17 estados e mais de 70 municípios a serem atendidos por 17 instituições federais de educação superior. No conjunto, 13.068 educadores fizeram pré-inscrição na plataforma e concorrem a 3.925 vagas.
