Crise não afetará educação, diz ministro
A crise financeira mundial não diminuirá os investimentos em educação, garante o ministro Fernando Haddad. “Temos uma dívida educacional com o povo brasileiro e vamos investir nesse setor em qualquer época”, afirmou Haddad nesta sexta-feira, 7, em entrevista ao programa Bom Dia, Ministro, da Secretaria de Imprensa da Presidência da República e da Radiobrás.
Os investimentos em educação bateram índices históricos nos últimos quatro anos. Hoje, investe-se 4,4% do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) brasileiro na área educacional. “O orçamento aprovado para o setor em 2009 é de R$ 48 bilhões, maior investimento já feito em educação na história do país”, reiterou Haddad.
Outro avanço foi o acordo celebrado na quarta-feira, 5, com as entidades que compõem o Sistema S. O presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, assinou decretos que alteram os regimentos dos serviços nacionais da indústria e do comércio (Senai e Senac) e dos serviços sociais (Sesi e Sesc). Pelas novas regras, as entidades devem ampliar a gratuidade e o número de vagas em cursos técnicos de formação inicial e continuada destinados a alunos e trabalhadores de baixa renda, empregados ou desempregados.
Grande parte dos cursos oferecidos por essas entidades não estava acessível aos trabalhadores de baixa renda. “O próprio presidente Lula não teria conseguido ser torneiro mecânico se precisasse pagar mensalidades”, observou Haddad.
