MEC manda fechar pólos de ensino a distância
O Ministério da Educação determinou o fechamento de 1.337 centros presenciais de cursos de educação a distância. A medida atinge quatro instituições: Fael (Faculdade Educacional da Lapa), Unopar (Universidade Norte do Paraná),Uniasselvi (Centro Universitário Leonardo da Vinci, em Santa Catarina) e Unitins (Fundação Universidade do Tocantins), como antecipou ontem "O Globo". Os centros de ensino eram pólos presenciais de educação a distância não credenciados pelo MEC, que, segundo o secretário de Educação a Distância, Carlos Eduardo Bielschowsky, estavam "muito abaixo da crítica".
Entre as medidas que as instituições terão de tomar estão a redução das vagas, a transferência de alunos para pólos credenciados pelo MEC e o fechamento de centros. A Unopar afirmou, por meio de nota, que não teve redução de vagas. Não é, porém, o que diz trecho do termo de compromisso assinado entre o ministério e a universidade. A pasta diz que, somente se forem verificadas as melhorias acordadas, a Unopar poderá abrir novo vestibular. A Unitins disse que "a supervisão do MEC (...) redundará em mais melhorias" para os cursos. A Uniasselvi afirmou que todas as exigências do MEC "serão realizadas pela instituição no próximo ano, como a implantação de melhorias nos pólos". A Fael disse que irá se adaptar às condições do MEC.
