Internacional da Educação promove debate sobre OMC e Educação em SP
Nos próximos dias 1 e 2 de dezembro, a Internacional da Educação realizará, em São Paulo, um debate sobre o impacto do Acordo Geral sobre Serviços (GATS) da Organização Mundial do Comércio (OMC) na educação pública. Entre as entidades convidadas para o encontro estão: CNTE/Brasil; CONTEE/Brasil; CPC/Chile; CTERA/Argentina; OTEP/Paraguai; CONMERB/Bolívia; UNE/Equador; ANDEN/Nicarágua; ADP/República Dominicana; e NEA/Estados Unidos. Prestigiarão também a atividade o Presidente do Comitê Regional da IE, Hugo Yasky, e a Vice-presidente Fátima da Silva.
O Encontro também pretende definir estratégias para garantir que os governos se comprometam a não firmar este acordo internacional. Serão atualizadas as informações sobre o processo de negociações realizadas na OMC e na Rodada de Doha, bem como as perspectivas para o futuro.
Entre os convidados para o debate está o Diretor do Departamento Econômico do Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Brasil, Ministro Carlos Márcio Bicalho Cozendey, e a assessora da CSI/CSA em negociações com a OMC/GATS, Hilda Sánchez. O evento será realizado no Hotel Braston Augusta (Rua Augusta, 467 – Consolação/ Tel.: (55-11) 3123-6000).
