Educação é caminho para superar crises
Belém, 26/1/2009 – Educação, transgressão e construção da cidadania planetária foi o tema da abertura do Fórum Mundial de Educação, que ocorre paralelamente ao Fórum Social Mundial, que terá início nesta terça-feira, 27, em Belém. A senadora Marina Silva, o teólogo Leonardo Boff e o representante do Instituto Paulo Freire, Moacir Gadotti, discutiram o papel da educação para a superação das atuais crises econômico-financeira e ecológica.
Para Gadotti, a educação é fundamental para qualquer mudança social. “O fórum está aqui para afirmar o direito universal de todos por uma educação de qualidade, gratuita, libertária e transformadora”, defendeu.
No mesmo sentido, o teólogo Leonardo Boff pensa que a educação, para ser alavanca de mudanças substanciais, tanto no sentido de evitar futuros problemas econômicos como garantir uma vida social mais justa, precisa aliar conhecimento racional e afetivo. “Não basta ensinar a razão intelectual, é preciso completá-la com a razão cordial, em que se sente o sofrimento do outro”, disse ele. “As escolas devem passar a dimensão da responsabilidade pelo futuro comum”, enfatizou.
Em discurso caloroso e emocionado, a senadora Marina Silva destacou que não é possível resolver a atual crise econômica sem passar pela solução dos problemas ambientais. Na visão dela, a escola tem um papel fundamental em um novo processo civilizatório, que rejeita a idéia de cultura baseada na lógica de mercado. “O erro é achar que não dependemos da sustentação do outro para existirmos”, afirmou.
Para Marina, a adoção de ideais de sustentabilidade econômica, social e ambiental dependem de práticas de ensino preocupadas com o futuro das próximas gerações. “A educação precisa formar militantes pela civilização”.
