CUT: Comissão Internacional de Investigação visita o Haiti
Julio Turra, diretor executivo, representou a Central na Comissão Internacional.Como membro da Comissão Internacional de Investigação sobre a situação no país caribenho que se encontra ocupado por tropas da ONU (Minustah) desde 2004, o diretor executivo da CUT nacional Julio Turra, esteve em Porto Príncipe, capital do Haiti, de 15 a 20 de setembro. Atendendo ao convite dos sindicalistas haitianos Louis Fignolé (da Central Autônoma dos Trabalhadores do Haiti) e Raphael Dukens (Confederação dos Trabalhadores dos Serviços Públicos), que integraram a delegação internacional presente no 10º CONCUT, realizado em agosto passado, a CUT enviou seu representante para as atividades da Comissão.
Durante sua permanência, Julio Turra escutou dezenas de testemunhos de representantes do movimento sindical, popular, da juventude e das mulheres do Haiti, sobre os efeitos negativos da presença das tropas da ONU no país.
Fazem parte da Comissão Internacional além da deputada nacional Zoubida Ramache (Argélia), companheiros e companheiras dos EUA, Guadalupe, Martinica e Brasil (além de Julio, Bárbara Corrales, representando o PT municipal de São Paulo).
Uma delegação da comissão foi recebida no dia 17 pelo comandante em chefe das forças militares da Minustah, o general brasileiro Floriano Peixoto, acompanhado de seus assessores diretos, para uma entrevista intermediada pelo senador Eduardo Suplicy (PT), na qual foram apresentadas denúncias feitas por organizações haitianas de atropelos aos Direitos Humanos cometidos por soldados da missão.
Os resultados dos trabalhos da Comissão Internacional de Investigação serão comunicados aos governos dos países envolvidos diretamente na Minustah, bem como ao secretário geral da ONU Ban Ki Moon. A data de 15 de outubro, prazo para a renovação por mais um ano do mandato das tropas estrangeiras no Haiti, vem sendo apontada como referência para uma jornada internacional de apoio ao povo haitiano e sua soberania, que, segundo os depoimentos recolhidos no país, é gravemente atacada pela presença das tropas da ONU no país.
