"Le Monde": Lula inventa universidade do século 21
O jornal francês "Le Monde" publica na edição desta quarta-feira uma elogiosa reportagem sobre educação no Brasil, na qual afirma que, com sua política para a área, o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva "inventa a universidade brasileira do século 21".
Em um caderno especial sobre educação, o correspondente do jornal em São Paulo, Philippe Jacqué, afirma que o presidente Lula deu "um sopro de oxigênio ao ensino superior" e multiplicou, desde 2002, planos para dinamizar as universidades do país.
O "Le Monde" cita como exemplos a Universidade Federal do ABC, em São Paulo, criada em 2005, para "formar os engenheiros do futuro" e as inovações da Universidade Federal do ABC, "na zona operária onde Lula começou sua carreira".
"O governo federal não economizou na Universidade ABC. Meio bilhão de euros foi injetado. Desde 2005, pelo menos 280 professores foram contratados, todos titulares de um doutorado".
"Reformulação total"
O "Le Monde" afirma também que a equipe jovem de professores, com idade média de 35 anos, corresponde ao desejo de reformular totalmente o modelo universitário brasileiro.
"Na Universidade ABC, não há departamentos de disciplinas, mas centros de pesquisas multidisciplinares para facilitar a cooperação".
Outra inovação da Universidade ABC, segundo o diário francês, é a criação de 300 bolsas de iniciação à pesquisa por ano.
O jornal afirma ainda que o presidente Lula desenvolveu instrumentos para facilitar o acesso ao ensino universitário.
"Com apenas 4,9 milhões de universitários (16% dos brasileiros entre 18 e 24 anos), o país não soube até o momento democratizar o seu ensino superior", escreve o Le Monde, afirmando que é a classe média alta, em grande maioria, que tem acesso às 200 instituições de ensino superior público e gratuito.
O jornal lembra que o sistema universitário brasileiro, "seletivo", favorece alunos com maior poder aquisitivo, que são mais bem preparados porque puderam estudar nas melhores e mais caras escolas privadas.
