Antes mesmo do início formal das negociações salariais, o sindicato patronal do ensino superior (SEMESP) avisou à FEPESP sua intenção de rediscutir a bolsa de estudo dos professores e seus filhos. Essa é uma das cláusulas que precisam ser renovadas na data base de 1º de março.

O motivo? A Receita Federal teria multado algumas instituições de ensino por entender que a bolsa é salário indireto e está sujeita à tributação.

A reação foi imediata. Informado pela FEPESP, o jornalista Luis Nassif publicou a notícia em seu blog, no dia 03/02. A assessoria do Ministério da Fazenda negou a intenção de taxar as bolsas de estudo. A FEPESP, então, entrou em contato com a Receita Federal.
