De acordo com a proposta, o desconto previsto deve variar de 20% a 100%, de acordo com a idade do contribuinte
A CAS (Comissão de Assuntos Sociais) do Senado aprovou, nesta quarta-feira (25), proposta para conceder isenção progressiva do Imposto de Renda para aposentados, pensionistas ou reformados, a partir dos 66 anos de idade.
De acordo com a proposta, o desconto previsto deve variar de 20% a 100%, aumentando progressivamente de acordo com a idade do contribuinte.

Alívio
De acordo com o autor do PLS 421/07, senador Efraim Morais (DEM/PB), "a proposta alivia a tributação dos aposentados, pensionistas e militares da reserva, porque o estado tem o dever de amparar as pessoas idosas, assegurando sua participação na comunidade, defendendo sua dignidade e bem-estar e garantindo-lhes o direito à vida".

Emendas
Segundo a Agência Senado, o relator, senador Jayme Campos (DEM/MT), apresentou parecer favorável, com uma emenda que preserva os contribuintes, pessoa física, que já são beneficiados de isenção total de IR, segundo a tabela progressiva do IR.
Outra emenda apresentada diz respeito ao teto mensal do desconto sobre a tributação do IR, que, segundo Campos, foi fixado em R$ 3.800.

Tramitação
O projeto, aprovado com emendas, ainda será examinado, em regime terminativo, pela Comissão de Assuntos Econômicos.
Caso seja aprovado neste colegiado técnico, e não haja recurso contra a decisão, o texto vai ao exame da Câmara sem passar pelo plenário do Senado.
